Rapid Setting 1
Bitumen Emulsion Rapid Setting 1 (PBI CRS -1)
It is a specially designed product for ensuring a uniform and strong Tack Coat for bituminous road construction purpose.
GRADE R S -1 is normally used for
- Uniform & Strong Tack Coat
- Foundation
- Basement
- Walls & Roof
Advantages:
- Easy and uniform spray
- Ready to use
- Saves energy as not require heating
- No atmospheric pollution during road laying or maintenance
- Less road maintenance cost
- Highly adhesive properties
- Water resistant and enhances easy drainage of water Low temperature curing
- Enhances structural strengths of layers
- Prevents lateral movements of structural layers
- Provides an impervious layer to prevent water ingress from water table below the road layers
Tack Coat :
An application of bituminous material applied to an existing, relatively non absorbent surface to provide a through bond between existing and new surfacing.
Objectives :
- To ensure a proper bond between existing surface and the new bituminous course being placed over it.
- To ensure long life of the road, it is important that the new bituminous surface bonds firmly with the underneath surface.
- To coat and bond loose mineral particles on the surface of the surface layer.
- To seal surface pores and make the surface water resistant.
- To impart structural stability and prevent lateral movement of layers.
- To assist adhesion between the base and the super imposed surface course.
